Glenda Jackson Volunteers For EMBODI Program
On March 17, 2016, Risk Consultant Glenda Jackson volunteered at Long Island’s West Islip High School, educating students on various insurance topics. The presentation was part of the EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence), a community outreach program founded by nationally-recognized sorority Delta Sigma Theta that provides informative educational sessions on real life necessities to adolescent men often exposed to risk and unfavorable environments. Glenda’s presentation was designed to not only provide an overview of insurance topics — not typically taught in the classroom — but to drive home the positive impact various insurance products can have when incorporated into each student’s current and future financial plans. Topics included: the variations of Homeowners and Rental Insurance, including Umbrella Coverage and Valuable Articles Coverage; the importance of having Automobile Coverage and the legal ramifications if not covered and more.
