Carolyn Vaeth, ERPA, QPA is a Consultant in Retirement Plan Services (RPS) and is an ERPA (Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent) and QPA (Qualified Plan Administrator). Working closely with the firm’s actuaries, attorneys and administrators, Carolyn partners with businesses of all sizes to solve their existing problems. She also works to design and implement client benefit, savings, and pension programs that maximize tax benefits while minimizing costs and specializes in optimizing retirement plan designs to achieve the highest probability for successful retirement programs. Carolyn assists organizations with developing and implementing exit strategies for their frozen defined benefit plans. Carolyn is also passionate about assisting professional women. Her focus is to create programs that both educate and empower working women to confidently and successfully invest and save to meet their retirement goals.

Carolyn joined Chernoff Diamond in 2013 as a member of the legal compliance team. She successfully navigated multifaceted client needs to provide practical solutions, performing Internal Revenue Code (IRC) and ERISA research and compliance reviews, and aided in the correction of retirement plan compliance issues. In this role, she prepared and sent documentation to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to achieve favorable determination letters and submitted VCP and VFCP applications for clients out of compliance with either (or both) the IRS and Department of Labor (DOL). Carolyn analyzed and clarified complex ERISA law to ensure that over 200 clients’ retirement plans remained qualified under the IRC.
